Spiti Valley Road Trip

The Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name “Spiti” means “The Middle Land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India.

Local population follows Vajrayana Buddhism similar to that found in the nearby Tibet Autonomous Region and the Ladakh region of India. The valley and surrounding region is one of the least populated regions in India and is the gateway to the northernmost reaches of the nation. Not to mention the awe inspiring landscape will make you spell bound.

The Plan

The plan is simple yet thrilling. We will pick you up from Shimla and move to the small village of Narkanda in Shimla district where we will stay for the night on first day of our trip before entering the tribal circuit of Kinnaur and and then into the Middle Land- Spiti through winding roads, ascent, descent, water crossings and much more…

This tour will take you through some of the remotest places, highest villages and monasteries, unique landscapes, crystal clear lakes & rivers and gives you opportunity to meet lovely people of High Himalayas.

  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days
  • All applicable refunds will be done in original payment mode used to made payment.

Booking Confirmation Policy

  • The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.
  • This is a non transferable voucher
  • In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email. In such case alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.

Day 1-Arrive Shimla. Pickup from Volvo bus stand Shimla around 8AM - Transfer to Narkanda

Rest in the hotel or take a stroll to the village. Or enjoy Sunset from Hatu peak. 360 degree views and beautiful surroundings.

Day 2-Narkanda - Sangla - Chitkul - Sangla

Beautiful riverside walk & fun at Chitkul. Ancient Badri Narayan temple at Sangla is a beautiful wooden architecture. Chitkul temple. Buy famous local Rajma from Sangla.

Night Stay:Hotel in Sangla.

Day 3- Sangla - Kalpa.

Visit suicide point, Kalpa temple, lazy walks, enjoy the awesome view.

Day 4-Kalpa - Nako - Geyu Mummy - Tabo

Confluence of Satluj & Spiti at Khab Nako Village

550 Years old self mummified monk at Geyu.

Day 5-Tabo - Dhankar - Mudh (Pin Valley)

Day 6-Mudh - Kaza - Langza - Hikkim- Komic - Kaza

Day 7-Kaza/Langza - Ki - Kibber - Kunzum Pass - Chandratal

Day 8-Chandratal – Battal- Rohtang Pass - Manali

Scenic drive from Barren part of Spiti to greener part as you enter Lahaul valley on the way to Chacha-chachi dhaba battal then to Manali.

We did a 9 night 10 day spiti valley trip with Travelmonk, and our experience from the beginning of the trip till the End has been a terrific one. The advice and services offerred has been of the highest quality, leaving no room for improvement. Mr Ranjeet, is the best person u can find, for any of yr travels in Himachal pradesh.
